A Hands-On Approach Toward Vehicle Velocity Estimation

چکیده
Automotive vehicle velocity estimation based only on steering angle and angular wheel velocity measurements is considered in the paper at hand. The approach is based on stationary Kalman filter design combined with a suitable preprocessing of the wheel velocity signals. A detailed assessment of the results by comparison with measured data is given. Possible applications include hierarchical monitoring of vehicle dynamics sensor networks.
